For Oatey
Greetings! Here are some samples of my work. Commercial/Corporate editing samples first, then documentary, then motion graphics, then videography samples, more about my videography experience, my equipment, and additional experience which could be an asset managing work ahead of and during events.
Commercial and Corporate Video Editing Samples

For Healthy Family Better World, I developed the multichannel marketing strategy and content strategy and edited all videos, including sourcing assets and creating some motion graphics.
HFBW videos came in two varieties - shorts to increase reach and awareness, and longer form (3-8 minutes) to convey more information.

For Healthy Family Better World, this is an informational video about a little-known law that affects mothers living abroad. Released as "You Better Know This Before You Go Abroad!" I edited this script, sourced all assets, and edited the video. HFBW videos came in two varieties - shorts to increase reach and awareness, and longer form to convey more information.

Part 6 of a series on toxic relationships for Healthy Family Better World. All videos have AI-generated captions (via Premiere), and for longer videos I tried to have motion graphics in the first few seconds to grab more attention when viewers arrow over.

Unreleased content for HFBW to improve their reach, this was a series of short humorous animations based on my family life. The idea was also not to take too long with each animation, get them done in a few hours, so the rough look was meant to be part of the strategy.

This is a promo/wrap-up video for a Color War event held at a girls’ religious school in New Jersey. I did the motion graphics.

This is the intro for the Complex Coronary Cases Symposium at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

This was for the educational app startup PowerMyLearning. The video promotes their approach to education and also honors a student, a parent and a teacher who worked together. Includes some very light graphics work I did.

Yeshiva University runs a high school age basketball league, with teams coming from yeshivas across the country. This was a promotion for their Red Sarachek league once their tournament was completed.

I edited social media videos for Mediaset, Italy’s largest private broadcaster as a contractor. I worked on two shows, “Pomeriggio Cinque” and “Mattino Cinque”. I created motion graphics for the social media posts to match both shows’ branding, and worked with the digital department to arrive on this format for the highlights videos, which clicked through to Mediaset’s streaming platform.

Another Instagram post I edited for Mediaset’s “Mattino Cinque”. In addition to cutting down clips to an Italian script, I reformatted the picture for each shot to optimize viewing on Instagram, and added captions.

As a freelancer working for Mediaset I edited and reformatted clips for Instagram for the program “Pomeriggio Cinque.” I also created motion graphics and worked with the digital department on the formatting. They accepted my recommendation that the videos should have captions on the basis that social media users most often don’t turn on the sound for video posts.

With “Pomeriggio Cinque” as well, I cut the clips to an Italian script, reformatted to optimize viewing for Instagram, performed color correction as needed in some cases, added motion graphics and captions.

I edited this video as a freelancer for Imagination Creations, including creating all the parallax and particle effects using photos provided by the client. I made all the motion graphics except for the title and “confetti” animations.

I edited this short commercial for Clum Creative, including creating all visual assets by screen capturing a site provided by the client, LT Trust. LT Trust was promoting their new online financial portal/dashboard, PartnerLens.

While freelancing for Clum Creative, I edited several commercials for CCG, all utilizing professional voice overs and stock footage which I sourced. I also created all graphics and performed color correction on these, including creating the website onscreen from scratch.

Another short commercial I made for CCG while freelancing with Clum Creative. These all relied on stock footage which I sourced, working within Clum’s budget, performed color grading as necessary and created the graphics.

I edited this short promotion for Clum Creative, which features professional voice over. I created all graphics to match previous branding by the client, Tracfone.

I edited four short videos for Imagination Creations using mostly footage submitted by people on the Internet to the client, Giving Tuesday. They are the nonprofit behind the annual day of giving (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving every year.) Full story is here.

I edited several videos for the #GivingTuesdayNow event for Imagination Creations. Full story is here.

I edited this commercial for Clum Creative, for the client Mark III Systems.

In 2014, I edited several sequences for the work in progress Forest of Punishments, a feature film by Hemal Trivedi. This excerpt was used successfully to apply for grants to continue shooting the film.

Excerpt of continuous scenes from The Clevelanders, unfinished 45 minute documentary. © 2012 The KC Group. I shot the bulk of this footage, along with Rich Walsh and Ryan Ray Vincent. I also edited the film, but due to scheduling and funding issues it didn’t go beyond an advanced rough cut stage.
Videography Samples
I am trying to locate and upload samples of other documentaries I did video on, Bulldog Spirit and Age of Avaloch.

I shot and edited this along with Amanda Rose Wilder in the winter of 2011-2012. The whole end video was around 45 minutes long, documenting the Chinese family traditions surrounding weddings of the bride, the Hindu and Trini traditions of the groom, the civil ceremony at City Hall in Manhattan and the huge reception. Shot with Panasonic DVX-100.

I shot this 45 minute semi-experimental documentary along with Ryan Ray Vincent and Don Walsh in 2011. I also produced and edited. I shot with the Panasonic AF-100, stabilizer rig and slider rig.

I did shooting on two different scenes in this series of Pop-Up Shakespeare in NYC, some tripod shooting and some handheld. This is the only scene I can find on the Internet. This was using a Canon EOS 100D.

In addition to the samples above, I was formally trained in cinematography as part of my studies at Syracuse University (BFA in Filmmaking, 2005). I filmed four student films there (one on 16mm, three on Mini DV cameras). I also occasionally shot b-camera at Maysles Films, Inc., though I don’t have samples for that. At Maysles Films, Inc., I acted as Office Manager from 2006-2009. During that time and beyond I was effectively their equipment manager, training staff in the use of cameras, maintaining and purchasing new cameras. Among other cameras, I trained staff in the Sony EX-1 and its data capture workflows.

My experience as Associate Producer (2 years), Post Supervisor (1 year), Production Coordinator (9 months), and my ability to manage and schedule staff could also potentially be a great asset to Prelude’s productions. I’ve got five years of managing staff as Office Manager (3 years Maysles Films) and Box Office Manager (2 years One World Theatre, where I scheduled and managed a corps of over 100 volunteers). I am fully capable of producing on event days, coordinating multiple cameras and other equipment. At Maysles Films I was essentially the equipment manager, maintaining and prepping the cameras and all production equipment for all shoots.

Trailer for Dogs the Musical as covered by the social media-based news roundup content provider K’tchup! Longer than the one-minute square Instagram sketch version, which seems to have been shadow-banned for its biting satire of IG’s “bread and butter”. Or it could have been the music.
